- Destiny 2 players can use the game’s transmog system to customize their character’s appearance, resulting in unique and imaginative creations, such as replicating characters from other media.
- Creative players can mix and match armor sets and shaders to recreate iconic characters like the Soul of Cinder from Dark Souls 3, which one fan perfectly remade.
Using the game’s transmog system, an imaginative Destiny 2 player has customized their Hunter to look like the Soul of Cinder, the final boss of Dark Souls 3. The Soulsborne series and the Destiny universe share several similar aspects, such as a compelling PvE experience, controller-gripping PvP matches, and a wide range of armor to customize the look of the player character. With the number of options available to them, players sometimes choose to opt for the best-looking gear rather than the strongest in order to look their best while slaying bosses.
Destiny 2 allows creative players to experiment and replicate characters across various media. Destiny players have skillfully mixed and matched armor sets and shaders to recreate Megamind from the hit Dreamworks movie and even Guts from the Berserk anime. The customization system was first introduced in the Season of the Splicer, with the Tower NPC Ada-1 being the point of contact for players to acquire bounties and material to transmog their armor.
Taking to the Destiny Fashion subreddit, a user going by the handle BugCreative1984 shared screenshots that show their Hunter as the Soul of Cinder, the last boss of Dark Souls 3. The recreation mainly uses several pieces from Iron Banner sets over the years and the Tangled Rust shader. To simulate the smoldering flames synonymous with the Soul of Cinder, BugCreative1984 used the Iron Forerunner Grips arm piece with the flaming Iron Banner logo as an armor glow. While the look is mostly black, a red Wild Hunt cloak draws the eye and is used by the player to recreate the tattered appearance of Soul of Cinder’s cape.
In addition, BugCreative1984’s second screenshot shows their Hunter using the Rising Dawn and Thunderous Sword emotes to recreate the Soul of Cinder’s sword. Many users loved the creation, with the post gaining 1.9K upvotes and many complimenting how well BugCreative1984 replicated the boss. Some users were especially happy because they could recreate the look on their own Guardians since it used some of Destiny 2‘s more easily obtainable armor and shaders.
Destiny 2’s newest season arrives in just a few more weeks, and with it, a variety of changes to the Crucible and even more armor sets to use for customization. Destiny 2’s yearly Dawning event will add more sets, too, meaning there will soon be new options for fashion enthusiasts.
